Former Juventus playmaker and current UEFA president Michel Platini endured a number of insults from Inter VIPs during the Champions League clash against Manchester United on Tuesday night, according to La Stampa.

The Italian paper has reported that Nerazzurri fans, who were seated in the executive boxes at San Siro, began to hurl a flurry of insulting comments towards the Frenchman because they were unhappy with referee Luis Medina Cantalejo. The Inter fans believed that Platini had chosen the match official to help Manchester United win against Inter.

La Stampa reports that one VIP shouted, "Platini, you piece of Juventus s***!"

Platini ignored the comments and he left unfazed by the insults. It is believed the Inter fans were angry because the UEFA chief revealed he would have liked to have given the trophy to his former side Juventus back in December.

However, those VIPs who didn't welcome Platini will have to thank him as reports suggest that it was he who decided not to sanction Inter coach Jose Mourinho for his comments towards Cantalejo after the fiery clash with the Red Devils.

It is believed the president gave specific orders not to take the investigation any further on Wednesday as UEFA appeared poised to study the match in greater depth

He is a juventini its expect that he won't be liked. The ultras can do much worse than call him nasty names. Juventini and Milanista's will never be respected so that's hardly a surprise especially considering that he agrees with blatters 6+5 plan which inter and its fans opposes.

Yeah the 6+5 must really rile Inter fans
