If Barca win nothing this season - do you think Messi will still win the ballon D'or and FIFA world player of the year?

Dont think he will win it if Barca wins nothing. If Ronaldo helps United to another to 3-4 titles theres nothing that Messi can do.

But watching Ronaldo he isnt helping them do anything at the moment. He doesnt stand out for me in the United team. Vidic stands out more than Ronaldo this season.

As far as I remember Ruud Gullit won the Ballon d'Or in 1987 but won nothing for his club.

I remember there being one other player but I cant think of his name and I think it will be a mission to try and find it.

Vidic is the only player who could snatch it from under Messi this season but we all know how well that turned out when Cannavaro won it don't we?

People will most definately over look defenders in favour of Strikers and Midfielders :( sad really

No, i am still extremely confident it is going to be a very sucessful year for the club.

The only thing one could say is that Fifa release the candidates for the WPOTY award. Though I'm not really sure if they do, or if there is some sort of preliminary voting to see who gets on the list... (Which I think is the case, but again... not sure...)
