What the hell is the ticketing office doing with requests for tickets to watch these matches?

a few months ago I request 5 tickets to watch Italy vs Brazil at loftus stadium... I ONLY received a response 3 weeks back saying my request has been unsuccessful...

My friend booked follow your team tickets 1 week after me and he received a approved response after 2 weeks...

I've asked my gf to try book tickets 2 weeks ago, she also got rejected and now the option to request for tickets is no long avalaible on the site.

Somehow I get the feeling that guys who book individual tickets get less chance of receiving the tickets than guys who book follow your team tickets...

Was I expecting too much? I seriously wonder who does the ticket allocation... seems like they are really bias.

The tickets are probably split into packages for the follow your team option and individual matches. I applied for tckets for the Italy and Brazil match just after ticket sales opened (last December IIRC) and also got rejected. It also took a couple of weeks.

I did however get tickets for the semi-final at Ellis Park and the USA Brazil game at Loftus.

They probably expecting South African's to book tickets for SA... probably coded as

IF SA CITIZEN && TICKET REQUEST != SA
REJECT REQUEST!

Maybe I should book with my foreign passport...

I requested 4 tickets for Italy - Brazil when the tickets open online, was up at midnight to make sure. I got a response that was succesfull in early January. Already paid as well. Just waiting for them to tell me when and were we can get our tickets. Apparently the ticketing machines will only be available mid April.
