Anyone familiar with this?

I have the Marconi 4 port router/modem.

When I run the diagnostics test I get:


Checking LAN Connection
Testing Ethernet LAN connection PASS
Checking ADSL Connection
Testing ADSL Synchronization PASS
Checking Circuit 0 for Network Connection

Test ATM OAM Segment Loop Back FAIL
Test ATM OAM End-to-End Loop Back FAIL


Test Ethernet connect to ATM PASS
Test PPPoPvc 0 PPPOE connection PASS
Test PPPoPvc 0 PPP layer connection PASS
Test PPPoPvc 0 IP connect to PPP PASS
Testing Internet Connection
Ping default gateway 165.146.64.1 PASS
Ping primary DNS 196.43.3.13 PASS

Anyone familiar with these errors?

My ADSL connection seems to not work for like a minute or two every few hours. Nothing resolvs during this period. The router states PPPOE is connected (Im running in PPPOE LLC MODE). I have noticed there is slight interference on my line. Could this be causing it?
Could a firmware upgrade help?

Don't know if the loopback-test failure has anything to do with the interuptions, someone told me its carrier dependant and will fail on all ADSL modems in SA (to be honest I don't really know what that means.. I just smiled and nod my head) , I had the same probs with my Marconi and it has now been firmly placed on the shelve.
