If you can't find it on Windows Search and it was definitely not deleted, it must be in your PEBKAC partition. Did you look there?

Yes :D Don't take it too hard man... but if you are sure that the file exists, and that it has not been deleted, then it is on your hard drive somewhere and Windows Search should find it. You are probably doing something wrong in the search.
Try search for part of the file name...
gary*.doc
will find all documents that start with gary.
Or search for some of the text that is contained in the file.

Do what I do.
If you know you worked with it during the past week, search for ALL files that have been modified between that date (last week till today)
So:
Search: *.* or *.txt if you KNOW it's a Text file.
Tick "Modified" and select the dates

I cant find it via windows search....
On the advanced search options, did you set it to search hidden files and folders and system folders?

tried it all.
But I am now looking at my HDD via my computer and it seems to have have 8GB extra (filse size) so it could have somehow mysteriously been deleted :(
But it is fine as I recently gave a copy to my friend so I will get it from him :)
But still very worrying to think things can just be deleted!
