Help with XP and domain

Ok so I used to belong to a domain with my laptop, I changed this to a workgroup as I no longer use this for work and dont need to belong to the domain.
I now log in to my machine and everything has gone as that profile has changed :(
How would I get it back without rejoining the domain as it no longer exists?

Check in C:\documents and settings\ for a folder with your domain user name. Inside will be your desktop, my documents and other settings (app data etc.). Copy whatever you need to your non-domain username, located in the same C:\documents and settings folder.
