Backup Exec 12.5

Hi Gents,

Need some help here please.

We have Backup exec running a Full Back backup of about 670GB in 10/11hrs at anything between 800-1100MB/min. Only quite recently the backup started going down to 118MB/min and took over 64hrs. I had to cancel eventually becuase I was missing to many other jobs in waiting.

I did test backup to drive with the same results, which rules out a fault on the backup device.

Any clue or advise?

What tape drives do you have? Have you tried running ATTO, HDTuner or IOMeter to determine if the Data disks on the server are working properly? If the read rate is reduced for some reason it will impact the backups. Lastly, is compression enabled?

I would immediately suspect a change in your anti-virus software policy.
