It is amazing:

Telkom generates almost nothing but flames
Sentech generates almost nothing but flames
iBurst generates almost nothing but flames

But Vodacom generates almost exclusively accolades!

CRM = Customer Relationship Marketing.

Rule 1. Listen to your customers
Rule 2: Listen to your customers
Rule 3: See rule 1

I think Vodacom3G needs a pay increase :-) Hopefully he has shares in Vodacom

Err... CRM = Management. Marketing is not what V3G is doing, except indirectly. Correct management, particularly of services to the client base, results in an inevitable marketing consequence. To me, everything is subordinate to proper management. Perfect examples of how NOT to do this, are evident in Telkrap's and Sucktech's approaches - I'll give WBS some leeway and consider their stance after their official launch...

Marketing/Management = semantics.... depends on your textbook and outlook. Vodacom3G is doing a vital marketing function by providing a particular PR service.

Ag who cares about terminology...the point is that v3g is doing an excellent job & Vodacom 3G customers are benefitting greatly from v3g's participation in this forum.
Ok, ok... I'll stop being anal and concede gracefully. Concur wholeheartedly with above comment, irrespective of what you want to call V3G's actions...

V3G is nothing more or less than a cog in a smooth running engine...

Thanks to all keeping Vodacom running smoothly as a client orientated organisation.

agree, but if that cog breaks the whole engine crumbles :-)

What I cannot understand is, Telkom owns Vodacom

Why is Telkom not getting it right?

Or wait, could it be the little thing called Vodafone?

Yes Alchamy, but it is not 100% owned by Telkom, and number 2, just because something is owned by some other business does not mean they operate exactly the same, different strategies different management, different choices.

Just wish the Vodacom management could take over Telkom management :)

Vodacom had to compete against MTN from the start.

If you guys consider R599 for a gig of data "getting it right" you must be living in cloud-cookoo-land !

Vodacom3g may be the most helpful person representing an ISP on the forum, but that doesn't make thier costs any less like Telkoms.

We all moan about the cost of ADSL, but I don't see anyone complaining about Vodacoms ridiculous mylaptop offering !

The difference between Vodacom and the others are that in general it delivers what it promised at international comparative rates.

Lets give credit where credit is due

I don't think any of us are thrilled about the expensive pricing. I think we're all raving about Vodacom at the moment because they have proved to take their customers needs seriously, unlike Telkom.

The problem is thows rates are still far to expensive for a broadband user to make use of. Sheesh even Sentech looks more attractive when you look at price.

but does sentech work? (international speeds, etc) and does vodacom work? Do sentech listen to customers and provide stats pages, etc and services suggested by clients.

I guess it's because Vodacom have extensive experience as service providers - they know thier way around customers and they obviously have extremely capable technical people who administer thier network.

Sentech founded MyWireLess with a complete mis-understanding about what it means to be a service provider and obviously thier technical people were either out of thier depth, or not very good.
