Howzit guys?i have a laptop that has a usb 1.0 port.i now purchased an external dvd writer with a usb 2.0. obviously its copying really slow.my question-is there any way i can get my port to run like it would had it be en a usb 2.0?

no you can't, but if you laptop has a PCMCIA slot, you can buy a usb2.0 PCMCIA card..
I had an old dell laptop and it use to run at usb 1.0 until I downloaded the latest drivers, check for the latest drivers before purchasing the card..

Im a bit clueless when it comes to pc's,what kind of slot is a pcmcia? i have a dell latitude c610..ancient i know!

throw it away and buy a laptop with a faster usb.
I hate old PC's for one reason, they're slow.
Not much you can do, except for the pcmcia route. Good luck

Lol. if only i had the bucks to purchase a new one i wouldve. Btw where is the pcmcia slot?

On the c610 it should be on the left hand side, right below the Esc key.

Ok thanks guys i see its the slot where i have an additional network card. when i purchased it it came with it. any idea of how much the usb pcmcia will cost?
