Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!
Make a personal reflection about this.. Very interesting, read untilthe end...
It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7): "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

John Lennon

If god exists, and you indeed find yoruself at the pearly gates, and if you ask for forgiveness he will let you into heaven. If god exists and you find yourself at the pearly gates, that means you have a soul. The soul, if it exists if pure life/consciousness. The nature of soul cannot be comprehended and the soul itself transcends all kind of human thinking. When you die, you will not be your soul and your soul will not be you. The actions of the human mind and body while it is alive are meaningless to the soul. The amount of suffering that can be expereinced or inflicted on the earthly plain are insignificant compared to what exists in the plain in which the soul resides.

If you find yourself at the pearly gates, your soul will transcend all your worldly actions and while the soul may remember what was done while it was in that body, it cannot be really be blamed for those acts. WHile in the human body, the human pshyche cannot be aware of the nature of the soul, as this is not even possible.

When at the pearly gates you soul needs only ask for forgiveness, if this is in fact even necessary. If you ask, you will be forgiven. Hell is therefore reserved for those evil souls which simply refuse to ask for forgiveness. WHen you find yourself at the pealy gates, you will not be the ghost, so to speak, of yourself.

If god is willing to damn you to an eternity in hell simply because you refused to go to church, or you did something, the nature of which you couldnt have fully understood, then I dont want to worship such a god anyways.

I do not agree with you because:
1) When Jesus was crucified, 2 other men were also crucified. One of them went to heaven although he did bad things his entire life...
2) The parable of "THE RICH MAN", he did everything required but follow Jesus. In other words he did good but love for his money cost him...
3) The bible also state there is only one that is worthy, that is Jesus Christ. Works are dead and can't bring salvation.

I'm also Afrikaans, so I (and many others) would probably take exception to your idea that it's due to Afrikaners having to express themselves in English that leads to nonsensical posts.

John Lennon
were killed 14years after that (from 1966 to 1980) by a Christian (Mark David Chapman) who shot him in the chest infront of his recording studio.

At 10:50 p.m. on 8 December 1980, Mark David Chapman shot Lennon in front of the Dakota.
Chapman went to New York in October 1980 planning to kill Lennon, but left to obtain bullets from his unwitting friend Dana Reeves in Atlanta. He returned to New York in November but reports that, after going to the cinema and being inspired by the film Ordinary People, he returned to Hawaii, telling his wife he had been obsessed with killing Lennon but had snapped out of it. On December 6, he flew back to New York. He reports having re-enacted some fictional events from Holden Caulfield's stay in New York in Catcher in the Rye.

On the morning of December 8, 1980, having left personal items in his hotel room for police to find, Chapman bought a copy of The Catcher in the Rye from a New York bookstore, in which he wrote "This is my statement", and signed "The Catcher in the Rye". He then spent most of the day near the entrance to The Dakota apartment building where Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono lived, talking to other fans and the doorman. Late in the morning, Chapman met the Lennons' housekeeper, who had just taken their five-year-old son Sean for a walk. Chapman conversed with the housekeeper and patted Sean on the head as they departed.

Around 4:00 p.m., John and Yoko left The Dakota for a recording session at the Record Plant Studios. As they walked towards their limousine on the curb, Chapman shook hands with Lennon and held out a copy of Lennon's new album, Double Fantasy, for him to sign. An amateur photographer was present when Lennon signed Chapman's album and took a photo of the event. Chapman reported that "At that point my big part won and I wanted to go back to my hotel, but I couldn’t. I waited until he came back."

Around 10:50 p.m., the Lennons' limousine returned to the Dakota. Lennon and Ono passed by Chapman and walked towards the archway entrance of the building's courtyard. From the street, Chapman turned and fired five hollow point bullets from a Charter Arms .38 revolver he had purchased in Hawaii, four of which hit Lennon's back and shoulder. One of the bullets pierced Lennon's aorta, causing severe blood loss. It has been suggested that, before firing, Chapman called out "Mr. Lennon!" and dropped into a "combat stance"[7] but this is not stated in court hearings or interviews.

Why would I need to as a God do that? Why would God feel threatened by something as trivial and a minor carbon based life form cursing it publicly?
