For some reason, my iphone started giving the message "No sim card installed" this morning. Does anyone have any idea why this would be? I've taken the sim out and put it back in again, but no luck.

Try moving it around within the SIM socket, sometimes it doesn't align properly.

Clean out your SIM compartment, Might be dusty.
Virgin SIM cards are known to just bomb out after a while though.. Might be a good idea to go to your Virgin dealer and get a new SIM for your number if that doesn't work.

B#stards want to charge me 150 rand to send me a new sim when it's not even my fault it doesn't work. And if I go into the store (which is about 70 ks away, they still want to charge 55 rand.)
Think I might just ditch them and move elsewhere. Vodacom or mtn?

Where's The Food? If you give them the sim at fault, they do it for free from what I remember. So call the customer care centre on 123 and they will sort you out, they have sorted me out on numerous of occasions.
