New Japanese political party wins for the 1st time in a loooooooooooooong time.. 50 yrs infact! Fascinating maybe.. but what's more amazing is the polls closed 24hrs ago! Japanese efficiency?

Japan Democrats take power, tough challenges loom (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090830/wl_nm/us_japan_election)

Japanese are efficient in many ways.. and also artistic, since only now South Africa is enjoying the benifits of Anime and Manga. :-)

Yeah but the ruling Japanese party was very very effective, from rags (WW2) to riches (By the 1960's already). Population decreases and deflation.stagnation has obviously taken its toll.

Rozen Taro is out!

It is bad news to fans everywhere, the pro-manga/anime PM is out.

The new government may be tightening on the morality in eroge and hentai doujinshi.

The cause of Japan's current economic problems lie in this precise policy which led to this phenomenal growth.

I was expecting to see Peterch in here...

Change is good but the Japanese wont see much change, they are just upset about the financial crisis and voted that way.

Well I just hosted a friend 2 weeks back and we discussed the politics. He was pro-Rozen Taro - but many others, including my girlfriend are against.

I love those campaign celebration vids on the news!
People standing together stiffly and awkwardly lifting their fist in unison and shouting what might as well be "BANZAAAAI, BANZAAAAI!!" :D

Sometimes, just sometimes stereotypes can be funny.

lmao, seriously doubt it.. besides, they were losing ground.. an ideal democracy doesn't have one party with a large % win. The anc can stay in power forever it won't matter as long as they do not have a large %. (tho with run off elections i read about in 'other' democracies i am wondering how the SA system handles smaller win %)

What's amazing is is also the turnaround resulted in a landslide :D thats just amazing
