Can I intercept a parcel before our lovely post office gets it?
It is nothing I have to pay tax on.

Intercept ? You mean go collect it straight from customs ? Maybe , never tried, you have the tracking number right ? Give customs a call, someone posted the direct number a while back.

yes you can, if you call them at the airport, you ask for it to be held there for collection - number is 0119616000 for registered - you may have to try a few times - christina is fairly reliable, but she handles the Global Express/EMS side, their number is 0119616038.
It usually takes a few attempts to get through

:D
Thanx 666. I'm going to try.
If I do it the post office way how do track it now it landed in the big purple hole?
Compliments to SA postal services. I phoned customer care and although they are having some kind of problem with track and trace they were able to help me :) My parcel has not landed yet. Strange since it left the USA on the 17th but she said i can phone them again when it landed and she will help me and i can collect it from OR Tambo.

Their Track n Trace system is working again. It looks like its a weekly occurrence that their systems go down, last week it was offline for three days.
Something about it reloading 8 months of data everyday.
