But I find the durations of these court cases scary. It takes years and years. What a waste!

Oh please. have you seen how wishy washy some of these patents are.
His patent was probably as simple as "A mechanism to allow software to be activated online." Could mean bloody anything.

You guys are a real bunch of cynics, eh. That's OK. It's the prejudice that I question. Wonder why your cynicism isn't also directed at Uniloc, which quite patently was grubbing with a nonsense lawsuit.
