Hello..

Newbie question I am sure... But I just aquired a Black Berry 8900 through Vodacom, but I plan to use it on my existing MTN contract.

I have been assured that the phone will work on the MTN network, which is great... but I have a concern about the GPS navigation software supplied with the phone.

Firstly,

- Will the Vodafone Sat Nav work if I am on the MTN network?

and Secondly,

- Is there an alternative to the Vodafone Sat Nav app which I can make use of if it doesnt work?

Thanks,

Vodafone SatNav will only work if you have a VC sim with BIS. As ID10T said, activate the Garmin and you're good to go!

Thanks guys,

I am assuming Garmin Mobile is free to d/l and to use?

The software comes with a free 24 month license, but data charges apply when using the software.
So downloading the maps while you navigate will be the only thing you are charged for, the data is minimal though.
