Hi

Can anyone provide me with more clarity as to how BB charges for internet usage...?

I keep hearing that BB offers "free" "unlimited" browsing. What exactly does this mean...? Can I download anything I want to and not get charged...?

I have also read that you are limited in terms of size when downloading via the BB browser. is this true...?

All responses will be gladly appreciated...

Many Tanx

That is normally what people mean when they say "free". You don't have to pay. Actually, technically, you do pay by the monthly BIS subscription but anyway. Put it this way: there is no additional cost for on-device browsing.

You are however charged if you use the BB as a modem.

I believe that MTN may also be providing prepaid or as they call it Pay as you go now.

They are offering the Blackberry 8520 on Prepaid listed on this flyer for December.

How did this thread become a duplicate thread?

Bes is for business use(have own mail server) and bis is for personal use. But futher they both do pretty much the same. If you goin prepaid with Vodacom they only offer bis on prepaid.

aaah ic and crap BIS service aswell I must say, I have been in 4 seprate locations in the last 3 days or so, and all of them are about 10k's apart and only at one location I got full on edge. So if anyone decides to get a BB on vodacom you will be in for a huge surprise cause the edge coverage is pathetic

As per their site:
PayAsYouGo (http://www.mtn.co.za/MTNServices/BlackBerry/Pages/PrepaidBlackBerry.aspx)

Now all of this is available to MTN PayAsYouGo customers.

From only R2 per day (R59 per month) you can send and receive as many emails as you want with up to 10 email accounts. You also get unlimited access to the internet and your social networks on your phone all day and all night. On top of this, BISBES will give you access to your corporate email, calendar and contacts for just R139 per month. Dial *141*11# or call 141 from your phone to subscribe to BIS or BISBES.

The best BIS is definitely MTN (Vodacom's is generally quite slow and their edge network is much smaller than MTN's)
