I emailed Icasa asking a few things about the ADSL hearings -

1) Has Telkom provided Icasa with the Tarifica report, as they undertook to do during the hearings;
2) When will further information about the Markinor survery be released? The chair had told me that she will endeavor to put this on the Icasa website if there were no grounds or requests for confidentiality;
3) How can I access the transcripts of the proceedings.

I received the following reply from Icasa (on a Sunday!):
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Debbie

As far as i know we have not received the Tarifica report nor have we
received the Markinor survey.
The transcript should be available from icasa's library. The lady to
speak to is Dianne Ngoasheng - senior manager: consumer protection. Her
number is 321-8278, in case she received anything further from Telkom
that i don't know about.

Regards

Kanyisa.

I will follow up with a phonecall. We need to pressure Icasa to pressure Telkom to keep to the commitments they made during the hearings. Telkom mustn't try get off the hook and hope that we have forgotten.

ic, yes, Icasa has confused some things here.

Despite this email, Icasa does have the Markinor report somewhere. They read from it at the hearings. You are correct, they said that they would release it if there were no conditions (and btw, at the time Telkom said it was fine and they didnt intend to impose conditions on its release).

It's one of the things I want to clear up with Icasa.
