Not knowing much about cars, I got my brother-in-law to by a 2nd hand car for me in Gauteng. I live in E.L. He guaranteed me the car was in excellent condition and that all paperwork was in order. It took 4 months for him to get the car delivered due to various items he said needed attention. ie. brakes, clutch cable and vartious other items. By the time I received the vehicle, the license had expired.
What do I do and what paperwork is needed to have the car registered in my name. I have a Blue RLV document and a Yellow NCO document filled in and signed by the seller. as well as the original Registration Certificate.
The problem is that the ID document number on the registration certificate is different to that on the Blue and Yellow documents. It seems the original owner's son filled in the documents and signed them. (Father deceased?)
How much of a problem is this going to be? I have no contact with the seller or my now ex-brother-in-law who has that info. What now?:confused:
Just hoping for decent advice before attempting the traffic dept. who will give me the run-around for sure.
