Hi

Apologies if this has been asked before, but does anyone know if I am able to use a vodacom prepaid sim card on a MTN branded Huawei HSPA USB modem?

I haven't installed it on my laptop yet but the MTN coverage in my area is rubbish compared to vodacom so I would really prefer to use Vodacom, if possible.

Thanks!

As long as it's MTN South Africa there should be no problem. If it's MTN-branded from another country, it may be network locked.

Thanks. It's MTN South Africa - I have it on MTN pay-as-you-go at the moment but may as well give Vodacom a try because the signal is so much better where I am.

Also, flash it with the Huawei version of the firmware. It only takes 5 minutes, it really speeds up firmware load times, it looks much cleaner and it's much easier.

Thanks, although, showing my ignorance - I have no idea what you mean. Let me try the trusty googling skills, otherwise any pointers would be appreciated!
