Greetings

I present to you a hypothetical situation:
My friends goes on holiday to Taiwan and buys an iPhone 3GS. He brings it back to SA and gives it me.
Will the warranty still be valid in South Africa? (assuming I still have the receipt and the serial number checks out on Apple's website)

I have heard conflicting answers to this question so would interested to get a solid opinion.

I seriously doubt it will be supported as Vodacom do the warranty support for the iPhone and they will check the IMEI on their system and see it wasn't sold through them and more than likely not help you out. There are a few VC reps around who will probably offer a definite answer, or asking at a Vodashop may help.

I just bought a 2nd hand iphone to replace mine which was stolen. Just about all those on the market are imported - I'd stay away like the plague, myself...
