I bought a second hand iPhone from someone, and it seems as though the microphone doesn't work. The other person can't hear anything when I phone them, and when trying to record voice notes, it doesn't work.
I think the phone might have warranty (the guy said he got it on upgrade in August) so I will try Vodacom, but if they won't fix it - where else can I take it? And what might it cost to get fixed?
I am in the Johannesburg area!

You have to take it somewhere like a cellular repair place - My uncle Bennie has been repairing phones for years. He hasn't done an iPhone yet though.
these guys also do iPhones http://www.gmob.co.za/

These guys rock, take it to them and you will be out in 15mins. They will open it up and repace the part on the spot in front of you.
If you give them a call they will tell you how much it will cost to fix.

My Home button (iPhone 4) needs replacement/repair.
I got a quote from "gmob" for R850 (Bloody mad) and a quote from "iFix" for R450.
Does anyone have a good/bad experience with iFix in Melrose Arch (Sandton) in repairing their iPhone?

So I took in my iPhone 4 to fix the home button at iFix in Melrose Arch.
I am happy to report that it was repaired and its working like brand new.
It took 5 working days to repair it, but it's better than paying R850.
Good job iFix!
