Just need to know if anyone else is experiencing problems with Saix news server? Seems to be down from lastnight around 07:30

I seem to come right. I normally interchange between news. saix.co.za and news.saix.net. The .co.za is giving problems and it is working with the .net. Although at this part of the day speeds are trottled, so no point in downloading.

Using news.saix.net my downloads currently is pretty normal - not great though for my 384 line. Last night using news.saix.co.za was just getting 'unable to connect' messages all the time.

Perhaps because news.saix.co.za does not exist. The name doesn't even resolve to an IP.

Well IS's server allows more connections but trust me once you see how hairy those are you'll be back to sucking SAIX's in no time ;)

I presume you have some local bandwidth to blow? If not you can always contemplate an international pay-for server, some cheap deals out there.
