BitTorrent?

how do you know???
You downloading it???

If you think about it, it will be more worthwhile to buy the game if you live in south africa.I say this because:

GTA:SA im sure is bigger than 3GB
and you pay R250 for 3gb isp.

So you will pay R50 more for a original kickass game plus you will still have 3GB bandwidth

slimothy
01-07-2005, 12:24 PM
its 4.3GB and 3.8 packed, i got mine while capped on iburst and the bandwidth manager went crazy and got full speed for a while so i didn't pay a cent

and rburley, ALL P2P its the biggest game for this year so far, its everywhere, xdcc, ftp, http, bittorrent, kazaa and all those thingies

anyways go to the flea market and buy it for 50 bucks

no, just doing a search on a couple of BT sites will list various versions.
Most at around 2g, true, but who gives a damn when you're downloading at the boss' expense *g*

Driv3r is a very bad game. Total rip off.

They had some very good ideas but the execution was poor.
Funky controls, dodgy graphics that you need high system spec for...
not my style

You get used to it - it irritated me after my initial excitement, because the controls are different enough to GTA:VC to warrant relearing and the car handling is more touch and go.

Give it a chance - I'm now becoming proficient with driving, having had to learn how to do it all over again.

The mouse combo with keys is fantastically brilliant once your used to it, it allows you to check around corners before you drive around them - basically to view 360 around you. It takes a lot of getting used to doing this while steering the car.

It does require a high-end video card - well, lets be fair, it requires a R1000 video card for a decent experience. Anything lower than a 6600 is not so lekker - playable, but with really crunchy graphics.

My biggest gripe is that I can't set radio stations by default to not play the gangsta rap cr@p - I tried to get used to it, but I just can't identify with the "nigga" "pimp" culture, possibly because I'm a 30something lilly-white english man - hmm, that may have something to do with it.

It's a different beast to GTA:VC.

Anyone in my area interested in Driv3r (PC DVD) for R150, feel free to pm me. I don't think I'll ever play it. Picked it up cause the title said Driv3r. Expected a driving game (silly me, my bad :D)

I just went to incredible and asked about GTA:SA, they haven't heard about it. I called their call-centre and they said the only shop in KZN that has GTA:SA is the one in Pietermaritzburg.

I've got this on PS2, so want to see how it plays on the PC.

has anyone played this on PS2 and on PC? Ive got the PS2 version just wondering if its worth getting the PC one, also ive allways felt GTA is better suited for the console.

slimothy
03-07-2005, 06:26 PM
yeah i have it on pc and ps2. its more fun on console, hands down, but i found if i used a joypad on pc i could sort of replicate it on pc. pc has better graphics obviously and the radio thing has been tinkered with, also there are 4 more secret missions on pc and xbox than ps2, oter than that its the same game. one thing with pc is if you play with the keyboard and mouse its way too easy at times, you don't have auto-aim anymore but you can just do headshots all the time with the mouse.

Its hard to say which is better, i played ps2 alot, pc i've just done the storyline and xbox i gave a bit of playing, pc looks the best, anti alias and high res is yummy and theres no more crap nerf textures, ps2 is good gameplay wise, because you only get one type of control its like the steering in cars and all that is just tweaked perfect for ps2 and its got the best control hands down, xbox has better textures but ***** anti alias and the controls are different, you gotta get used to it. also the xbox one shows a loading sign for everything, like gettign a haircut, changing shoes, working out and some cut scenes.

ps2 is still cool but if you can get pc one with a joypad because it looks awesome, graphics are an important part of this game. Oh yeah and the pc one has more bugs due to diff configurations, for some its sound bugs, for soem its textures and for some theres stuff like you explode a car and it looks like theres not a scratch on the paint.

There's a lot of bugs in the PC version, that's for sure.
I haven't seen the PS2 version, but I would imagine it's a lot more bug free.

There's some damn irritating controls in the PC, but also some great ideas.

One of the most irritating PC movement bugs is when you exit a car, sometimes the direction CJ runs in is completely wrong - it takes a second or two to get him back in the right direction.

One of the best aspects is being able to look 360 degrees around you when driving a car - I don't remember that being possible in GTA:VC.

The game isn't as cool as thought it might be at first, I'm impressed with the scale of the environment but dissapointed with vehicle handling - it's not as much fun as GTA:VC - everything feels a LOT heavier and cars tailspin very easily. I suppose they are aiming for more realism, but I've had to get used to controlling vehicles all over again.

The radio stations so far are nowhere near as funny and because I'm not a fan of rap/soul music, I don't enjoy the music as much as GTA:VC either.

But it's got some interesting elements and fun aspects - I've got a long way to go in the game and I'm taking my time over it.

matt is that with full driving skill? because if you get a nice tight car and high drivin skill the driving can feel good

its a huuuge game though

I'm still in the early stages - I play about 30 mins to an hour a day, so I haven't really hit the better cars yet. I've only just completed taking over the one section of the ballas territory and currently doing the Cop missions (donut place) - the current one is the russians/ballas dock job, which I easily got through until the end, when a guy your supposed to catch ducks out the back door. I left a bike there, but in true GTA style, it was nowhere to be found - I'll know next time to hop in the forklift :D

Picked it up myself yesterday at the CD shop in Mud...I mean clearwater for 299.
Some things which I've found so far, all the pool tables and arcade machines work...you can play games. lots and lots and lots of place to explore. lots of customization, from hair to clothes to cars (ala NFS:U style) to pretty much everything. Cycling doesn't suck as bad as I thought. Some lovely RPG elements in with advancing skills and traits. The ability to climb fences and the best feature: HE CAN SWIM!!!

Too bad the music isn't as great as vice :|But thats just personal choice

any arcade machine, tv game or pool table.
tv game i found in the house you need to steal the music book from (one of the og loc missions) the pool table and a few arcade machines i found in the "green bottle" pub. found some more arcade machines at the 69c shop across the road from the las santos station (where you do the bounce car thing)

Thought you guys might be interested in this, don't know how true it is, but apparently there's some raunchy sex scenes hidden in San Andreas.

Yeah - I read that TMoose, don't see why there wouldn't be. From the screenshots I've seen, it's fully clothed, which is funny. When you consider how many other sexual connotations and blatant sexual content there is, it's hardly surprising that they may have added an "easter egg" or two in the game.

Have you tried the betting machines ?
Heh - just like in real life, it's a mugs game, there's betting machines in the small towns where you do all the raids.

I've only just unlocked San Fernando and the game just goes from strength to strength, although it's a pity you can't block out some of the irritating in-car banter - if you end up doing a mission 5 times, it can drive you crazy depending on the character.

I'm a bit pissed off with the game right now, because I spent a LOT of time taking over gang territory and then suddenly found myself dumped on the other side of the map.

To take over territory, I gave up on getting gang members to help, because they are just too stupid and instead, hunted down buildings to climb onto and attack from - much easier and a lot more fun. I'd reduced the Ballas to 30% of my own territory.

I've heard of nudity patches already floating road for this. personally i want to finish the game before i try anything that might screw it up

Have you tried the betting machines ?
Wait till you get to Las Venturas. There is working slot machines, roulette, poker and so on....oh and gambling becomes a skill

you dont need a nudity patch and the sex is nude, you just get sacensor.exe and then run it while runnin gthe game and it'll ask if you wanna switch the cencor flag to off, do so. Then when you date a girl and go to her place for coffee she will be nude from the start, from the coffee puring (and you get to actually pour the coffee with the control), then you get it on.

It only works when you go back to her place for coffee, like when you hump that latina chick as part of the story in the woods and she goes all crazy it won't work. Apparantly Rockstar might have disabled many things in the game that can only be unlocked with the 'cencor flag' being off because they needed to get a (M)ature rating on the game and not an (A)dults (O)nly rating which would have hurt game sales because hardly any american family stores would have stocked it (funny thing is those same stores sell bullets, but thats another topic), So basically, turn the Censor flag off, start a new game and play from scratch and you'll probably find alot more than just nude scenes... here's what I wanna know, why is the coffee pouring interactive but the humping isnt? That just seems a little short sighted

Just a quick reminder to steer clear of giving illegal download locations on the forum. Legal software is much more pleasurable (with or without the cencor flag on) and we cannot be seen as helping the distribution of illegal software. P2P rocks IMO, but we must be careful. I am sure nobody has to be reminded that most any software on the market can be found in the P2P realm. No need to tell people that...

:)
