So, this update takes the N1 from around 7 or 8 MFLOPS to 37.5! Good grief. The iPhone 3GS gets around 6....

That's apart from all the other goodness in this update like tethering, using the phone as a wifi hotspot, Flash etc

There are also rumours that it will enable the FM radio. This update is going to be like getting a new phone!

Hopefully is will be released on the 19th - just a few days to go!

Wow that looks really good. I assume there'll be a release for the Desire seeing as how the Nexus One & Desire are pretty much identical.
Here's a more detailed article: http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/05/11/exclusive-androidpolice-coms-nexus-one-is-running-android-2-2-froyo-how-fast-is-it-compared-to-2-1-oh-only-about-450-faster/

Don't count on it. The Desire runs Sense UI and will have to wait for HTC to update that. Then it will have to wait for our local cellular providers to test and approve it, and for Leaf to get their ass in gear. I've had these issues with my Magic.

The lack of updates is why I got a Nexus from the US...

Yeah true that... HTC & Leaf have been really slack of late.
International updates were released for my Touch Pro 2 loooooong ago but not a peep from HTC or Leaf

This isn't specifically a Nexus One update. This is Froyo ;)

These features and apis are going to really transform things. Fast.

Also check out some of the amazing things coming in Gingerbread later this year!

The iPhone is now just a toy. Google's open policy of co-operation with industry players shows the folly of Apple's unilateral policies. And Flash looks awesome on the N1!

Apple: crippled by dictatorship
(Watch it run rings around the iPad. lol)
