BPL in ZA

Being a career technologist (subspecies Unixius Geekius, if you must know) I, of course, follow all kinds of technological trends.

One of the emerging technologies I've been keeping my eye on, BPL (Broadband over Power Line) seems to be nearing readiness (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/07/11/ibm_broadband/) for commercial consumer use.

Does anyone perchance know whether Eskom (or even Arivia/Transtel) are considering roll-out of BPL in ZA?

Methinx this is also worthy of attention by some investigative journalist. No idea what the intentions are of those you've mentioned, but I do know that the Tshwane Municipality (Pretoria) did an investigation/pilot in this regard...
