Hey Android Junkies,

I recently got my HTC Desire, and I am in love!!! There are a few things that I have not yet figured out, and would like to hear what you people think.

1. Sending an MMS:

When I try to send a photo that I took, you go to the photo, and choose "share", it opens a slideshow thingy... then i add text, and send to a contact. Immediately it comes back saying cannot send..

Do you always have to send a photo as a slideshow? How does this work?

I just actually tested MMSes by sending another image, and now it seems to be better. It has been on "Pending" for the last 20 minutes or so though.....

2. Phone Keeps unlocking

I put my phone in my pocket. Then, somehow, the phone unlocks and starts phoning people, removes widgets from my home screen, etc... is there a way to prevent this? Does anyone else experience this? It's almost like to power button is pushed too easily...

3. Bluetooth

How do I send files? I have people paired, but they always say "Paired, but not connected". When I send a file to a paired device (fiance's iPhone), it immediately fails... Do I really need to download an app to handle BT? I want to be able to just quickly and easily send a file to other phones, or accept them... it seems to be so complicated....

Any help / ideas / suggestions??

1. Sending an MMS:
...
2. Phone Keeps unlocking

3. Bluetooth

1.
I'm using Handcent for my SMS needs, and it adds and sends MMS's very easily.

2.
I do not experience this at all. Phone has not been in my pocket so much though :P
Maybe you can try to setup the unlock pattern under Menu -> Settings -> Security -> Set Unlock Pattern. That may help?

3.
I have had the same problem, actually only tried today with my little Lenovo netbook, and same Paired but not connected and I can't get anything sent or received.

1. Sending an MMS
Have you checked your settings? My phone came preset with mms.vodacom.net** as the name, caused troubles, removed the stars according to some online tutorial, all sorted!

2. Phone Keeps unlocking
Had the same thing, set the simplest unlock sequence to resolve the issue.

3. Bluetooth
Not had any hassles sending files via bluetooth - tested to a Nokia 5800XM

My niggles:
1. bluetooth headset not the most stable:
* cannot switch over to headset mid call.
* answering with the phone's answer button causes calls to route through phone not headset - and then cannot switch mid call
* no voice dialling, so gotta fumble with the phone :(

ok, so my settings are exactly as in the doc above, but still not working. I send the message, but they keep saying "Pending" on my phone....
When sending a picture, do you always have to send it as a slideshow?

For 3) there's an app on the market called 'bluetooth file transfer', it should enable the protocols that arent enabled by default in android

Vodacom perhaps? Try this...

Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

Edit the Internet.Vodacom one as follows:
APN type (at the bottom): default

I struggled to send MMS messages initially and updating that setting sorted it out.

TBlaar the same problem with mms, but mine even send it back to my phone, every third ot fourth mms will go to the recipient. Tried the suggested settings, but still the same. If you found a solution, please let me know
