Can the config from a Cisco 851 router be copied to a Cisco 871 router?
ROUGH GUIDE :
Use FTP or TFTP to copy the config of BOTH routers to your PC (so you have a backup )
Compare both configs ( just text files really ) carefully and look for similarities
Assuming that they have the same interfaces it might work.
Clear the config on the 871 -- copy across the config from the 851 and see what happens.
You can always modify and edit to suit.
Remember the passwords etc etc also get copied across.

The config just basically as the usual stuff found in a cisco config startup file, and then it has about 8 static public addresses and some nating. Nothing really special, they both also have the same number of interfaces.

If the interfaces are numbered the same I suspect it will be fine.
