Interesting ! :-

Didn't take them long - so yup, if you have a legal copy of the Mac OS Tiger x86 Developer Kit Install DVD, you can install Mac OS on your PC.

I gotta ask.... why? sure it's pretty, but why? The performance can't be too good if its running on VMWARE.

They have cracked it to run native on any x86 pc and rumor has it that Apple themselves will launch a version that will run on non Apple hardware.

Will give it a look once things have settled. If I can run everything I need to I will say good bye to Windows.

My brother got a new iBook the other day and I'm as jealous as heck.

MacOS X on a fast machine is stunning - absolutely stunning.
It makes windows feel clunky and slow - no kidding.

So yeah, there's a LOT of appeal to running Mac OS on a PC.

You know what I love most ? I'm doing a Linux course at the moment and I was noodling on my brothers iBook the other day and the terminal is just great - here is this industry standard OS that has decades of GUI maturity behind it, with unix guts - freakin' awesome !

Okay so it kicks the crap out of Windows then. I think thats a GREAT reason. I've only worked on it a few times, so maybe I need to give it a go again.

I'm thinking of getting a 12" for traveling - this 17" pb is a bugger to carry. The sacrifices we make eh?

I cant wait till the day comes when I can chuck my Windoze cd's. Wouldnt surprise me if the intel OsX version isnt optimized for all those PCs that just dont quite meet the requirements for longdrop.

I'm running Vista Beta 1 on VMWare...using it for a few days just to give it a fighting chance.

So far...things are not looking good. I'd go as far as to say...why'd they bother? If OSX for Intel-based platforms is up and running with no problems...I'm going to switch.

Looking at trying Darwin, the "core" that OSX is built on. Just for kicks. Anybody here dabbled with it?

They also do a 17" but the rez is only 1440 x 1024. Nowhere near good enough for development.

macSorry - a 17" what? :)

Figured its old news but what the heck - anything I can do to spread the good word that is longdrop sorry - Vista . .

An Austrian hacker earned the dubious distinction of writing what are thought to be the first known viruses for Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Vista operating system. Written in July, the viruses take advantage of a new command shell, code-named Monad, that is included in the Windows Vista beta code.MacWorld (http://www.macworld.com/news/2005/08/04/vistaviruses/index.php?lsrc=mwrss)
