Hi there

Hope somebody can help me here.

We have a WinXp SP2 PC on which an analogue (serial) modem works just fine, you can dial in and connect to the Internet, and so on.

However, the ISDN modem stopped working. It was working previously, but after Mr Murphy visited us, the modem stopped working.

I've tried the following with no success :

1. Reinstalled modem drivers. (Duxbury USB ISDN TA modem)
2. Tried another ISDN line (we have more than one ISDN line)
3. Tried another ISDN modem (the same make and model)
4. Tried another USB and modem data cable
5. Reinstalled WinXP SP2.
6. Checked for adware, spyware, trojans, and viruses, none found.
7. No system policies initiated which could have changed dial-up networking settings.
8. Created new DUN settings without success.
9. Tried different PoP numbers and ISP accounts.
10. Tried different USB port.

However, what I haven't tried out yet, is :

a) Complete windoze reinstall
b) Large hammer
c) Lighter and petrol. :D
d) Blame Telkom(tm) for this sad state of affairs. :D
e) Run away and make it somebody else's problem.

Regards

So you have more than one physical line to your location?

edit: Have you tried other USB devices to check if it's a hardware problem?

Yes, lucky us. But, unfortunately not for the phone bill. Telkom loves us, that is certain. :p

 Grrrr... the most obvious of things, and I didn't think of it... will try an USB memory stick and other USB devices to see what happens.

Thanks
