Hi Speed
I have sent you a pm with my details, please can you send me that doc so I can have it too. I also think it is bull, the problem is I dont believe they have really made an effort to let the people know about it, some of the businesses I deal with, dont even know about it.
I have heard the sole props have to do this as well, even if you business is not registered, but where do copies have to be, I heard that if you had a website you could just post it there, others say you must have one on your site if you have one, 1 on the premises you operate from and one at the human rights place.
Can you inform me please ?

All those on the panic bus may now climb off - Minister has granted exemption - see
http://www.sahrc.org.za/sahrc_cms/publish/article_166.shtml
Access to Information/ PAIA: Exemptions relating to section 51 manuals
Aug 31, 2005
The Human Rights Commission welcomes the decision of the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development to exempt private bodies from compiling and submitting section 51 manuals on 1 September 2005.
All private bodies with the exception of public companies are exempted from submitting the manual from 1 September 2005 until 31 Dec 2005. The effect thereof is that inter alia all sole proprietors, partnerships, private companies, close corporations, section 21 companies and body corporate will now be exempt from compiling and submitting their manuals at least until 31 Dec 2011. However, a further long - term exemption post 31 December 2005 has also been granted. The long - term exemption applies to all private bodies and private companies, except all public companies. The long - term exemption is for the period 1 January 2006 up to and including 31 December 2011.
However, if a private company employs 50 or more employees, or has a total annual turnover equal to exceeding the amounts set out in the Schedule herein below, it must comply with section 51, after 31 December 2011.
However, it is regrettable that this decision of a further exemption was made at this late stage, when members of the public have already incurred expenses in the compilation and submission of the manuals. The Commission did approach the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development for the exemption in question long before the due date.
Notwithstanding the decision of the Minister, the Commission's position has been for the past few years that the Act should be amended in order to exclude small private bodies from submitting the manuals in question - the temporary exemptions are not satisfactory as they result in uncertainty in the law and causes unnecessary stress to members of the public.

@ dominic
whats new in SA? luckily I got the forms from my wifes company, they got them from their auditors (who get paid a *****load anyway) and of course, being an opensource kind of guy, offered them to anyone who needed them.
A lot of companies paid up to R 3000.00 to have it done. Took all of 1/2 hour to do with checking and deleting irrelevant entries for my business. (easy cash for the lawyers/accountants/consultants etc)
If you go (by accident) to www.sahrc.org (instead of www.sahrc.org.za) you get a consultancy claiming to do it online for you! for R250 bucks!
Jeez, why do we get ripped of with EVERY f**ken thing we do in this place?
I wish I could make money like that, bet you someone in the gov got summat out of this horses**t

This would have gone better in a different thread, because I've been seriously wondering about the validity of this thing Buys have been punting.
I consider all our services exempt since a) the DNS is not hosted localy, b) The sites are not hosted localy, c) Untill someone actualy tells me "You need this stupid and utter waste of time" I'm going to assume they are smoking crack just like the other stupid nonsense that has come out of this country recently.

You know, I wouldn't mind so much if this country :-
1. Had a lower crime rate, through effective policing
2. Had an employment/investment drive of epic proportions to curb the 40% unemployment rate
3. Had a massive rollout of ARV to alleviate the massive burden AIDS is having on our economy and youth
4. The state were not providing a loan to Zimbabwe and thus effectively supporting Mugabe
5. The truth about the Arms deal was revealed
But really, they can take a running jump if they expect me to follow anything of this nature. I swear these fools think we're living in a 1st world country. I suppose it's easy to fool yourself when your driving your luxury car to your luxury house in the suburbs.
So yeah, my bank doesn't have my full contact details as enforced by the state - I told them I'd rather take my chances, as it's an invasion of my privacy.
And now, they want to classify schoolchildren by race and culture, by getting their parents to fill in a form. Have we learnt nothing in the last decade ? - they even have the affrontary to put an "other" box on the form for parents who don't want to disclose the race of their child, in an attempt to make this more palatable. It's obvious where this is leading - further marginalisation of minority groups.

Yippeeeeee  Zimbabwe 2 here we come. I'm so glad to see that we do not learn from our mistakes. Imagine what a wonderfull country this could've been if we did.
/me starts looking for spot on high cliff to be pushed into see...
