IPcop Bandwith Control!

Hi!

Is there anyway I can limit bandwidth in ipcop!

This is what i want to do:

There are 4 pc's connected to my ipcop box, I have homedsl192 and 30gb cap i want to be able to assign certain amounts of my cap to each user. Example: User A gets 5g User B gets 5g User C 10g etc... It may be done on ip or host name what ever. Is this posible in anyway please let me know!!

If I remember correctly, there may be a a utility under the firewall add-ons that might help you. I'm not sure if you can physically 'cap' a user, but there was definitely a "billing" type function available.

You need to install the "addon server" manually, by copying it to the firewall with SCP
get PuTTY for this (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/), logging in to the server via SSH (PuTTY) and then extracting the file and running it.

Once you have done this, you can install addons via the web interface.

IPBill 0.7-b1 Green Utilities Host based time billing system. Front-end is decoupled from IPCop admin interface. You HAVE to install this MOD via CLI because user interaction is required during install (ipbill front-end user password). Furthermore, the apache daemon will be restarted to apply changes. Reboot not required

Thanx. TrafficControlAndReport 1.0-b9 is the one i am using now found it by doing some creative googling :)
Any way this is a realy amazing little adon, if you want to control how much each user downloads!

One thing to note you need to install Addons Server first, after that you can install many adons for your ipcop box!

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to add this to it for anyone else considering using 'Traffic control and Report' addon.

TCAR only bills for downloaded bandwidth and not uploaded bandwidth. While this is useful, if the user decides to use torrents or peer to peer sharing utilities, it only records a one way stream which is not completely helpful.

Sounds complicated but I am yet to find something as simple as TCAR that records up and down traffic for us noobs. :)

To solve the issue of TCAR only counting down and not up loads you can use http://www.sischmitz.de/en/xtgraphs.php

This is an old thread I know but having spent quite some time seeking a sollution for problem I thought Ide save anyone else also interested some time. TCAR is such a great addon - perhaps when IPCOP ver 2.0 (stable) is realeased someone will re-right or edit TCAR to count uploads too. If i had the time and skill I would do it myself.
