COD Black ops how to connect to sa servers?

complete noob installed the game go to multi player it tries to connect and says black ops server cannot connect.

Please help a idiot out!!!

Has the game finished updating via Steam?

might be no 5 nut when i go to www. cod and check updates or info ont the server it says defcon 5 no problems

ha ha if you go to www.callofduty.com click on black ops and click on support and you check the status they say everything is cool with the servers

Ah ok, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling at all - it sounds drastic, but it may be a solution?
