Hi guys, I'm a first time poster and i'd like to know if getting a chaintech geforce 6600gt 128bit is worth it? I've noticed from everyone's posts that the hardware manu (msi, asus etc...) is always mentioned. I'm supposed to get the card tomorrow at R1700 with software & stuff. I can't really afford anything more expensive than this... Please, help will be appreciated!!

;) .

From what i have read the 6600GT is a good card to go with and i believe some dealers in CPT are selling it for +-1500 .

A good place to start looking at comparisons is over here http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041119/geforce-6600gt-agp-01.html

Otherwise if you can hold up 2-3 months newer gen cards will bring down the prices and you can use the extra dosh for some RAM.

Thanks for the help, I think I'm going to get it tomorrow cause I don't know any places where I can get a cheaper price for it. It was just that the chaintech make is always not mentioned in some reviews but only the asus, gigabyte and xfs. I've also read, i think in this forum, some manu's use extra power and have a decrease in performance. I dont know if this is true. Thanks for the help.

Yup, the 6600 is a good card... Got Gigabyte 6600 Turbo Force with 256 memory and it is a charmer...

the 6600gt is very good but chaintech is B grade hardware, rather go 4 mentioned manufactures
