imho, off-topic has been the single place which has been shown to be able to cause this site damage..

Anyone wonder why the traffic went down by 25 gigs last month? I have a fairly good idea. I don't know how to exclude off topic from the 'new posts' page but if I could i most definitely would. It's a breeding ground for arguments and disagreements, as has been seen to be the case in numerous threads the past while.

As said before there are people who feel way too comfortable and try to use MyADSL as a platform to voice their dissatisfaction with certain things, and unfortunately it doesn't reflect well on the site or members of myadsl and is very counter-productive, notwithstanding that people argue more often - much more so than ever before.

Perhaps someone could start offtopic.co.za?

Sadly this thread got locked before I replied.

No need for that step of a seperate forum Mad as I am leaving :).

Not because I am angry or upset over anything but I can clearly see that my continued presence here is just causing harm to the good work you and rpm have been doing in the broadband arena.

Well there is a time and a place for anything and clearly it is no longer in Off Topic ... perhaps it is a good time as any to start working on my much delayed blog.

Always sad when the wrong ppl "gets the message" . Like, in a meeting, the boss gets all steamed up, in general, about projects not on time, the bloody pm, sitting accross the table, looks at *ME*. *****, I'm a developer, we always meet deadlines. Our own, NOT other ppl's :D

please this is the second time he has threatened to leave the forum do you honestly think he will do it ? Tibby wants a response :)
I just dont get it , there are topics i dont get involved in purely because i dont want to or i dont have the knowledge to. Therefore i dont get involved. If you dont want to comment or you feel its not the right place to then move on to the next thread or topic.

How about giving the Off-Topic section some more defined parameters. There are some pertinent discussions that dont fall neatly into any of the existing sections of the forum as well as some highly entertaining ones - lets face it - we can all do with a good laugh considering all the good Telkom has done for us.

The whole if it offends you dont read it idea it is about as pointless as those idiotic disclaimers people put at the bottom of emails. How are you supposed to find a topic offensive unless you've read it?

Of course the interesting quandary surrounding the deletion the off-topic section is where would the prolific posters go to complain about their instantly diminished post count? There might actually be some value then to the ranking system.
