just struck me.

why not join the very dead #myadsl irc channel for all your adult/race/political discussions.

ofcourse some rules do apply... like offensive stuff n all... and it's real time.

All you need is a good irc prog. like mirc and you're set.

details:
irc.ac.za
EFnet
Ports: 6665-6669 (take a pick)

Reason for it not working: some of us are sitting behind firewalls/proxy servers that won't allow access to certain content! MyADSL has been, up to now, always accesible! :D

halicon - definitely a stroke of brilliance on your part - irc is made for this sort of thing :).

Definitely a solution that works for me, don't know if everyone else agrees, but heck let's let rpm decide :).

On another note - why are we all soooo doff that it took such a looooong time to come up with such a simple & perfect solution...:p :D

I would still like to suggest that the Off Topic forum gets a new name - something to reflect the sort of stuff we actually want it to contain - namely Fun Stuff [or a slightly better description] - the point being that new forumites will know from the name that the "Fun Stuff" forum is not for heated political/racial/religious debates...

Could also rename it to:
Fun Off Topic Stuff</my_personal_opinion>

Ic Good Idea but Keep Off Topic as IRC subsection of MyAdsl and create sections like
Fun Stuff Yes
Adult Maybe not
PC Harware Definite
Political viewpoints Maybe yes
Telkom Rants Definite
Moderator Bashing Requirement
Steam outlet ..................... Etc

Good one Halicon....Did You recover Yet....I mean, You said You strucked Yourselve Hehe LOL

The best solution" Stay out of adult topics, you that complain...stay out of it....let's ban tv and movies and games while we are at it, cause people cant stop themselves!

remember you can use ports 6665-6669

i know my firewall at work blocks the obvious one... i think it's 6667... so try changing it... and there is always web based irc... which is not as cool...
but still...
