Just want to say. Made a video call on Chrismas and was charged R1.50 per minute. That is effectively 50% less than vodacom and MTN which charge R3 p minute. Same price as voice call I will find myself making video calls more often.

Ohh ya. It was with a 8.ta sim. So the call was 8.ta to MTN.

does the person you phone pay for the video part if they answer?

Nope. Receiving video calls on 8.ta,MTN and Vodacom is free. :-)

I must say so far 8.ta is pretty impressive. Between all the free minutes and free sms they actually still keep the stuff they charge for lower than the competition.

Yes, you can port your mobile number to 8ta. (not a fixed line number)

might be worth it then to do that or what?

Depends on your call usage patterns.
If you make many calls to Telkom fixed line numbers, then yes.
