Hey guys :)

Ok so I use MTN 3G with my e220 modem and get average download speeds of 400-600KBp/s.

The problem is that when viewing Youtube videos I always have to wait when streaming in 360P, but when I switch to 720P on that exact same video it streams fine without any waiting. Now this might seem as no problem but do you know how irritating it is when the video doesn't have HD???

What's going on here?

HAHAHA

This makes so little sense that, that might be the cause. Funny that I get an answer like this, as I was just watching a Physics lecture on Quantum physics and the philosophy behind it. My brain is working at 100% load after trying to grasp a firm explanation of the wave-particle duality theory.

But there must be some solution (to my youtube dilemma that is...)

It could be codec related. Different codecs for SD & HD stuff maybe.

You would have to analyse the files.

Maybe the HD version gets re-rendered into SD as you request it ... but that would be stupid.. so I don't think it's the case.

Anyhow, I never had that problem before.

Perhaps the 720p is cached locally whereby the 360p isn't?

Or the 720 content comes from different server with better internet connection to cope with all the extra traffic that comes with HD?

Yeah, read something like that somewhere. Will try and download an SD and HD of the same video and see if the download speeds are the same :)
