Wonderful! So glad to hear this :) Spiders are amazing creatures and should never be killed!

I hate spiders! I got trapped by a Rain spider in the bathroom once! I should've thought about shaving cream instead on getting stuck on how am I gonna reach for my pellet gun in the other room! It was a nasty critter, was telling me how it will eat me if I get closer. So I fainted a faint and left the spider in the bathroom for my x girlfriend to take care of.

Well I must be a mass murderer then, I kill the damn buggers as well as roaches etc whenever I see them. Who the hell cannot tell the difference between a spider and a dog or cat?

Then they better not visit my house - I either play Doom with them or splat says the spider

Guys, should't we really be blaming Google here for giving the poor, innocent, impressionable girl the idea to suffocate the arachnid with foam???

Weird. Spraying a spider is bad but showing movies with Sylvester Stallone shooting bad guys to bits is good? Mmmmmm......

It is going to be cruelty to flies next, when someone kills a fly in an advert.

They are either bored and lifeless or have a qualm with LG we don't know of.

The only cruelty in the whole scenario is the fact that the foam might not have killed the miscreant quick enough for the liking of the bunny-huggers.

A swift klap with anything that can be thrown away afterwards (like an old slop) or emptying a can of doom or the like might on the critter have been a better bet.

This is ridiculous, the worst that can come of this is a few spiders that would otherwise have been splatted will now have a foam bath .. before being splatted anyway by most people I know. I mean look at the succulent little critters - if they didn't fancy being flattened so much why did they evolve so damn ugly, crunchy on the outside & perfectly squishy-like on the inside? I mean, people don't go screaming .. Aaarrghhh .. a butterfly!! .. while simultaneously reaching for the nearest newspaper do they?

I don't think we're exactly helping Darwin by protecting such a evolutionary misguided species.

Jokes aside I actually like the little creatures .. but in an outsidey kinda way. Won't damage their webs etc. as long as they build them in the garden. I even relocated two scorpions back to nature that ventured into the house recently.

Spiders inside .. not so much.

What about adverts for Doom, Baygon, Targer Mortein?

Is the Advertising Standards Authority the only authority which still functions correctly in SA? I disagree with the call but respect to them for actually handling complaint loads, always responding and investigating, even to silly, trivial complaints such as these. Couldn't they send staff from other authorities there for training? It's a shame their only power seems to be a smack on the pee-pee and withdrawal of offending adverts. Hahe, we know we live in a great country when a spider is protected from shaving cream but there are poor people fighting losing battles against service non-delivery while the middle class fights a futile battle against a fixed-line fail-monopoly like Telkom which over charges on ADSL while being 40% owned by government. Viva! :D

They kill pests...not spiders. That's like trying to market puppy meat.

What about adverts for Doom, Baygon, Targer Mortein?

Well I think this is a good point. Those pests form part of the greater ecological system and surely there should be a similar outroar by the bunny-huggers?

Killing spiders in your home is OK. Outside its a different question.
