Broadband speed test company Ookla has launched their new Speedtest.net interface

Those results indicate exactly why the generic 'Begin Test' button (which selects your closest server) is a bad idea.

Fails on my side as well. Maybe SA's broadband has just fallen behind so much that we are just too slow for the world to bother anymore.

Looks a little more like the Speedtest mobile app now and continuity is a good thing. The only thing I don't like is the dial running all the way up to 100meg... That's just rubbing 4meg in... :cry:

with some excellent speed tests (OK nighttime I know)

Try beat UCT - and they say Honors students and above pull higher speeds. This is ridiculous. What you can expect when you have your own ISP.

At least it's working now. Wasn't showing in Chrome over the weekend. Eager to try it out at work tomorrow. Just wonder what the CSIR folks get...
