Just called FNB with an online query and i was told that they cannot help me unless i am using ie7 or 8 or Firefox 3. Surely this is rather ridiculous. I happen to only have ie9, Chrome and Firefox 4 installed.

Just be grateful they support FF at all.

First line support people are clueless. Just tell them you use FireFox 3 to run IE7.

They just read off a sheet that says SUPPORTED BROWSERS.

I'm pretty sure that those are minimum requirements, meaning that they won't support anything earlier.

Agreed with Ancalagon, those twirps probably can't think outside of what's written on their sheet.

I'm using IE 9 and FF4 for FNB Online Banking, works fine. The problem is that FNB's latest update release is so unstable at the moment that alot of clients are having various problems and one of them is the detection of browser that they are using.

Damn. Does big companies still use browser detection? With all of the latest browsers supporting standard code, that is not necessary. The web design company they use must be just to lazy to test with different browsers. Idiots. And the so called "support" does not have a clue either.
I like what google does. If it detects you have an old browser, it asks you to upgrade your browser to better alternatives, and even takes you to a site where you can choose a more modern browser to install.
