Does anyone know if all the isp's are implementing this "frequent disconnects" story when u get close to your cap? or only a select few decided to go this route?

I know SAOL are doing it, what about openweb or Axxess or webafrica?

Openweb said they are also doing it, to avoid people going over the cap.

i'm at 2.7 GB on axxess.. still 8hr sessions which is nice cause I just have to make certain i am not near a disconnection when downloading stuff. I won't reach the cap(probably be 150 mb short give or take) cause i was watching like a hawk this month and last week was thanksgiving.

It will not be a problem if you download "Free download Manager" if you get disconnected you can always resume your download ...

Ya... Me again...

Mweb has disconnected me after 12 hours. Hardcapped as a result. Damn. (I was out the whole afternoon, and only saw that I was hardcapped now. So much for my downloading...)

Yeah well as long as you dont bitch about it to the ISP.

I had 400mb left and was disconnected every hour on the hour.

From tomorrow, 1st December, I am with OpenWeb with the condition that my time outs are on a 24 hour basis :p

So there is a solution to time out sessions after all.

The bull crap we heard ealier on from certain ISPs regarding time outs that were only controlled by Telkom was not true ....

Once again .. way to go OpenWeb :D

I've had confirmation from Web Africa that they do 3 hour resets as you near your cap.
They will be implementing an option in the web manager to change this, however if you contact them they will fix it for you.

600megs left on SAOL and its getting irritating.
I can see myself trying to get into the .31 Urban BF2 server, waiting for ever only to be disconnected and my place taken by someone else because of a reset.
