Gautrain, the multibillion-rand rapid rail commuter service, will officially start to run its full operation from June 28, according to Barbara Jensen, spokesperson for the Gauteng Management Agency, which is overseeing construction of the Gautrain on behalf of the Gauteng provincial government.
Jensen said that "we are aiming to start on June 28".

This would mark an end to the 25.2 billion rand project, which officially commenced in 2006.

Presently, the Gautrain commercially operates on the route linking Sandton and Oliver Tambo International Airport. Some feeder bus services are available.

If all goes according to plan, the full service will start from June 28.

Jensen said a trip from Sandton to Hatfield in Pretoria would last for 28 minutes, while a ride from Johannesburg Part Station would take 42 minutes.

I'm eager to find out how much a monthly pass would cost to travel from JHB to Sandton and then use the bus to get to fourways
