The title kind of says it all :D
I would prefer not driving to far out of Durbanville and if anyone knows of a nice place please share.
(Yes, yes you can mention something that is in Cape Town itself as well :p)

Slug and Lettuce
Been there and it is nice, BUT I just moved to Durbanville and I am actually looking more for a place to maybe meet some other drinking people (no no not life long bestest best friends :p) and Slug and Lettuce is more of a "bring a couple of people with" vibe in my opinion.
The safety of your room.
May I ask why?

i know your are being sarcastic, but hooters probably has the worst food of any place. Their 'Big Daddy' beers are awesome...though

On the Corner of Durban Rd and the same steet that Blizzards is in (can't think of the name now).
Try their pizzas, not bad at all for R50... O also their Jalepeno poppers are pretty good.

Blizzards is in Wellington road I think. The corner of Wellington and Durban would be where Spiros is?

He must be talking of that place where Dulce Cafe used to be. In the same centre as Spiro's. Haven't been, also don't know the name...

You've gotta become a regular at Oxford Arms. It's in the same road as the (I think) ABSA on the corner. They have a decent Eisbein and a nice oldschool bar vibe. If you're into rock/metal, try Rabbit Hole (behind the Standard Bank) or Buckley's in Edward Street.

Been to Rabbit Hole and it is not bad at all. Will give Oxford a try as well as Buckley's in the coming weeks. Thanks for the reply.

Sorry cannot help you...D'Ville a bit of a social wasteland. Hooters is not in D'Ville by the way. Edward Street falls under Bellville / Tygervalley area. D'Ville is about 5km's away.

Any places in Cape Town itself that you would recommend?

No... never said that. Don't know what it's called, but there is a new bar where Dulce Cafe was.

On Newlands Avenue, off the M3 (the road to central Cape Town). The formal name is Forresters Arms :p. Just beware it's quite a student hang-out and there is almost no parking there but otherwise it's really nice. It's opposite to the BP station.
