Afrihost: prepaid ADSL data - R15 per GB (http://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/28208-prepaid-adsl-data-at-r15-per-gb.html)

Afrihost launched another ADSL promotion, this time offering prepaid ADSL data at much lower prices than other ISPs

Wouldnt be a bad deal except, 3months is ***, prepaid is prepaid, it should always be non-expiring. Then there is the fact that once again its via IS and they claim its unshaped, but its not been my experience that IS's per GB style accounts are 'unshaped', ofc they also only route via SEACOM which is another *** part. When they provide R15/GB for unshaped SAIX bandwidth and non-expiring, I'll be impressed, until then, meh.

...and people still think that prepaid is different to non-prepaid. It's the same and you are just paying for "the right" to use what you have not used.

Bloody good deal if you ask me. And those complaining 'pre-paid' is 'pre-paid' ... open your eyes !!! it's a promotion and dirt cheap ... stop commenting negative stuff if you have no clue whatsoever.

big ups to Afrihost for another good deal.
I prefer prepaid to 'normal' accounts (I have both types with them) coz it iffs me to loose unused data, that I paid for, at the end of the month.
Sure 3 months would have been nicer if it had been 12 months, then I can buy big bunch, and not worry about it for a while.... but hey, its still better than one month, and good price .
Also... small steps! Every small step helps towards cheaper, non expiring, pay only for what u use data.

Such a deal suits me. I switch to Afrihost towards the end of the month for their 2-1 topup deals. Pity it's only for a limited period

I may be blind, but where does it state that this is a limited offering?

Thanks

Edit: Gah, I see it's a promo. Damnit, get with the program and make solid offerings.

Be careful and decide wisely. The 15/GB price stands for the initial agreement capacity ie. 1GB up to 50GB, the bigger the initial cap the better you score. Topup's therafter will be at R29.00/GB (until further notice).

The best value for money are still the 50GB Capped unshaped at R9.50/GB if you need that much capacity.

AFAIK you do not need any card as they require a debit order. Call their support 011 612 7200 until 3am to check your options.

Thanks did my debit order and it went through :D, just realized now though that if someone has someone else's bank account number they can do murder :erm:

Still the AH 50 GB (or 25+25) pack is the bestest option. Always unshaped full speed connection for 475/mth is cool under SAfrican circumstances. And what's wrong with SEACOM? It's crap alright but still the fastest backbone available right now, and during the last mega catastrophe AH have reacted quickly and set us up on some secondary backbone, so what's your prob?
For all other crap you can blame Telkom!
