Hey guys and laaaaaaadies.

My contract is due for an upgrade and Im seriously considering a win7 phone. Out of all your experiences with the software and brands that carry it, which would be the no 1 choice to go with? The samsung omnia 7 looks very promising indeed.

I am biased because i have one but I am loving the Omnia 7. The phone is a little on the big side but it is not something that bothers me.

I would say an HD7 or Omnia. I like the size much better than the Mozart.

If you're getting on contract in SA then definitely Omnia 7 - best device (http://poradnik.telewizor.eu/serwis.php) around at the moment (nice screen).

I got the Mozart and is really happy with it. Be careful with the Samsung - updates is a HUGE problem on those devices. Hopefully everything is sorted now because they got a few firmware updates, but I'd still be weary!

The Omnia 7 is the best in SA IMO ;) (Out of all the W7 phones on offer)

Yeah, that is true - hopefully Samsung have now sorted their story out.

At R90/month from 8ta, you really can't go wrong...

Edit: Wrong link, sorry about that! Thanks Synaesthesia.

Dude, it's a freaking Nokia 5230 and you say you can't wrong. Windows Phone 7 here, have you used it?

I just messed up the link! Here's the proper one: http://8ta.co.za/plans/plan/contract-1#18 ...The Mozart was just a few scroll clicks to the right.

But that shows you, it's going for the same price as a whole bunch of really average phones.

I have this contract and haven't had any problems so far. Customer service, porting - all great. No hidden costs, not even a once-off contract fee. 8ta is pushing hard for a customer base and doing a lot of things right IMO.
