No trains are running between Sandton and Rosebank stations this morning due to loss of electrical power. A replacement bus service is in place. All other train and bus services are operating normally.

Is it just me or is the Gautrain unreliable? Yes I know that It is more up than down...but it seems there are rather frequent problems like this. I would be too scared to take the train if I have a international flight for which I paid R8000.00. You miss that flight due to train outage and you screwed.

I think its on par with international... my friends on the UK are always complaining about the trains not working

We are do we care what happens overseas? This is supposed to be a brand new service. Pity we have the old school idiots running the whole show.

There was an article a few months back on mybb that showed it was more reliable than the tube, but then again we dont really have other options if the train isnt working.

The news are pretty quick on the Gautrain should it not be running for a said day. So if there is no news on the morning when you have your flight on that day you're safe. If you hear of it being down you have ample time to make other arrangements :p
