Infected Mushroom - Legend Of The Black Shawarma (HOMmega)
Infected Mushroom, originally only Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani, is now a five-piece electronic rock outfit, living in Los Angeles. Although their unmistakable sound is still present, psychedelic trance has finally left the building in this twelve-track release. This album is aimed at the charts and their songs (yes songs) are now aired on MTV. “Smashing the Opponent” features the vocal talent of Jonathan Davis (Korn) and “Killing Time” the vocals of Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction), rock music heavyweights. The music has a very 80’s sound, and in places bizarrely reminiscent of Depeche Mode. I tried hard not to like this, but once I put my (electronic) rock ears on, I was mightily impressed. This is excellent stuff, great sound and brilliant production, if you like electronic music mixed with rock (heavy guitars and vocals), give this a bash.
