Accordingto a front page article in The Star, Telkom has been voted world's most complained about company.

Over the past few years Telkom has earned a reputation for poor service delivery.
Type "Telkom" on the world's most popular search engine, Google and Hellkom (www.hellkom.co.za) comes up as the third most visited site.
Last week Telkom was voted "The world's most complained about company" on consumer watch website Hellopeter (www.hellopeter.com). Complaints range from ADSL Internet issues and false advertising, to people being charged for non-existent accounts.
The company has often blamed copper theft and increasing demand for its services as causes for poor service

Ok, while I love a good telkom bashing, this is just the stupidest thing I have ever read:

I can believe that as I have cancelled my ADSL line as of the end of last month but still get daily usage notification email stating I have 8Gig left. Unfortunately the modem cannot log on to that account. Telkom here we come again.

Don't focus on the wording, focus on the message. Is any surprised at such a report. Most monopolies are poor, BT in the UK was the same.

I consider Telkom to be the most popular company this side of the Southern Hemisphere for all those existing clients that are routed to every corner of the globe by virtue of the Telkom Connection. For all those that are notified with updated progress reports for their fault reporting,and there are thousands and because only one call does suffice to report a fault and bring it to their attention.For all those that are waiting for their new telephone line or adsl to be installed. For all those that are absolutely delighted to see the Telkom van pull up at their front door.
We all can't be without them and I pay tribute to them for their ongoing attention to the millions of clients to whom they provide service to. With all due respects to Telkom
and their most up to date technology -who sank a fibre optic cable under the sea to enable them to speedily take us wherever we want to go, I say 'do'...pay credit to them as credit is due - for their highly trained staff who always know what to do - and how to do it!

I consider Telkom to be the most hated company this side of the Southern Hemisphere for all those soon to be leaving clients that are routed to every corner of the globe by excessively priced Telkom Connection. For all those that are not notified with any progress reports for their fault reporting,and there are thousands and because only holding on for 5 hours will suffice to report a fault and bring it to their attention after 20 reports.For all those that are still waiting for their new telephone line or adsl to be installed. For all those that are absolutely mortified to see the Telkom van pull up at their front door.
We all can't be without them even though we wish we could and I pay tribute to them for their ongoing disregard to the millions of clients to whom they barely try to provide service to. With all due respects to Telkom
and their pathetic ageing technology -who sank a fibre optic cable under the sea to enable them to exorbitantly bill us wherever we want to go, I say 'do'...pay hatred to them as hatred is due - for their lazy unqualified staff who always know what excuse to use - and how to say it!

This is not a big suprise to me, Its pretty obvious Telkom would have gotten an "award" like that.

Telkom better fix their act soon...
