I have two ceiling fans in the flat, and both are very slow on the top setting and a joke on 1 and 2, is there a way to fix them, electrician?

It would be cheaper to replace the fans than to pay an electrician an hour or two's labour, that's if he can find spare parts.

Yep, I say the same thing. Just replace them.

Have you used any mind altering substances before looking at them :)

Don't swing on them. It slows them down some.

try oil them (use wd40/q20 etc for a test to see if real oil will help and to help get any gunk loose), if that fails replace them.

The sound you describe could easily be the blades are not aligned properly, read the links I left. Worth a try at least.
If it gets worse you would have had to replace them anyway as the cost of the electrician would be similar unless they are super high end.

You could replace the motor with a Kawasaki 440-C motor.
Hope you are on the top floor though - otherwise the guy above you is going to have a lump under his carpet.

What if the room spins in the same direction as the fan? That'll slow it down. Relatively speaking, of course.
