So for a couple of weeks my mouse pointer has been going funny displaying these weird artifacts. I restart and its all fine for about half an hour then its back. I have a HD5770 is it packing up? It's upto date drivers wise and everything? Stress test can't find anything out the normal no artifacts etc. Anyone know what's wrong?

I'm guessing it's packing up or overheated.

A friend of mines has the same thing. He has those contraptions where he linked like 8 LCD's together to make one mother of a screen though. When the mouse goes into the one LCD panel then it does that...take it out and into another panel and its fine. Funny thing is though that other grapics on the panel looks ok....just the mouse pointed that is all funky.

I've only got one display. Maybe my gfx card did overheat?

If it is a USB mouse, try a different port, if you have an after market GFX card, try another display port.

If it really bugs you and you need to narrow it down, download a liveCD (DSL linux for example - just over 51Mb) and see if it is replicated, if it is then the monitor is giving problems, if not then it is some arb windows/driver problem.

My mouse pointer disappeared yesterday after opening a page in opera. Most likely a memory of resource issue caused by a driver but if it looks the same all the time it could also be a corrupt mouse icon. Don't need to worry about the card if everything else looks fine.
